My original plan for this episode was to show you the aspects of a shoot as my muse and I worked on our long-term project “My Nude Year”. What actually occurred was a type of blooper real. I filled a washtub for the model to sit in and I was going to shoot her from above. I climbed the ladder to get my framing as we set up to shoot but did not push the record button on my video camera knowing we would have to adjust the water level in the tub. I assumed Shannon, the model, would ease herself into the tub but instead she just dove in. We had water everywhere and laughed ourselves almost to the point of crying.
The cleanup process took so long that I increased the playback speed of the video. I really loved the part at the end where Shannon is sticking her tongue out at the camera in her playful way. You will notice during the video that the camera is shooting but the flash is not firing. Due to a flash problem we are currently having I took a lot more frames than needed. On a shoot when everything is working correctly we take about four or five frames for a shot like this one.
Until next time,
